ARTIST BIO

Hailing from Inglewood, CA and as seen on BET's docuseries "Next Big Thing", Tia P. is a driven, passionate & charismatic rapper, producer, musician, percussionist and signer-songwriter whose lyrical prowess is unmatched. Influenced by Missy Elliott, Pharrell Williams and Lauren Hill - her musical style embodies the essence of Erykah Badu, the funk of D'Angelo, the storytelling of Bahamadia and the brashness of Jean Grae.

The 25-year-old Howard University graduate has been making music and writing lyrics since the age of 6. Tia P. has opened for KRS-One, Bootsy Collins, DJ Quick, Kelly Rowland's group June's Diary and a host of other well-known acts. In 2017, she won the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition which enabled her to be a spotlight artist on the NAMM mainstage.

Key performances include headline shows at the Roxy, Viper Room, 1 Oak (formerly Key Club) and features for major league sports teams. Her music can be found on-screen in Ali Wong's Netflix movie "Always Be My Maybe" and Fox's hit TV show "Empire" and she can be seen in national commercials for Sprite ft. LeBron James, Macy's and Pepsi ft. pop-sensation Tori Kelly. Last year her long overdue but highly anticipated EP "Peek-A-Boo" was released, which highlighted a remake of the Beatles' timeless classic "Come Together" with powerhouse talent B. Slade.

Unafraid. Honest. Unique. Next. Tia P. is an extraordinary artist with a passion to be the "Voice of a New Generation". Her high-energy stage presence blends musical styles with positive messages - a reflection of her drive to defy the odds of expectation and break the confines of being bound to a particular genre.
